Preacher's name:
Abraham
Village's name - Burna

Brother Abraham was born in a high
caste Hindu family. His original name was Hanumanthu
(a Hindu God's name). He attended a crusade in 1999 and received
Christ. Because of his
conversion to the Lord he was thrown out of his family but Abraham
stood firm in his faith for
the Lord.
He attended New Hope Bible College and
in November 2002 Abraham saw a vision in which
many people were being killed by black lion. He also saw the
people running toward a cross to
escape the lion but as soon as they reached the cross, it
disappeared and people were killed. In
the final scene of the vision he saw a big board with the name of
the village written on it.
After seeking the Lord, Hope
Evangelical Church sent him to that village. The village has
a
population of 7,500 people with 29 Hindu Temples and not one
Christian church. When
Abraham got to the village he was astonished to see the people
worshiping a lion god that was
black in color with red blood in his ha nds.
At the beginning Brother Abraham faced
all sorts of problems. He was threatened, beaten
physically, abused, and no one would rent him a place for his
family to live. For two years they
stayed in a thatched shed outside of the village.
Then in 2004 due the non-availability
of medicines in the village, Abraham lost his one year
old son because of typhoid fever. They could not find the medicine
that was needed and after
two months of sickness the little boy died.
But Abraham was encouraged by God and
slowly the people started listening to the Gospel
message. God also revealed His power through miracles in Abraham's
ministry. As a result of
Abraham's faithfulness God has blessed this church and over the
four years since Abraham
went to the village, 56 people have received Christ as their
Savior.
Today this church faces two
main problems.
They don't have a building to worship in. In 2004 Hope Evangelical
Church helped them
purchased some land, and the villagers have raised enough money to
finish the foundation and
the walls but the building is without a roof. They need $1,000 to
finish the roof.
The Second problem that Abraham faces
is his financial support will run out in January 2008.
Hope Evangelical Church extended Abraham's financial support with
great difficulty for two
years but that commitment will run out in January. Brother Abraham
needs $60 per month to
support his family and to continue this work for God.
Please pray that God will meet these
needs.
